A Fire Permit is required for burning activities during the Bush Fire Danger Period. Fire Permits help ensure fire is used safely and minimise the danger to you, your property and the community.

Temora Road Water Mains Replacement Program

Council wishes to advise of the continuation of water main replacement work in Temora St between Murray St and Parker St commencing on Monday 13th March 2017. Works will generally be completed between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

 

During construction access to properties and on street parking may be limited and any inconvenience will be reduced where possible. Locations for no on-street parking will be indicated by traffic cones and residents are requested not to park in these areas. While these works are underway traffic through the works may be controlled by traffic controllers and residents and motorists are requested to follow their directions.

 

On completion of the water main replacement, kerb and gutter and road reconstruction works will follow. While works are underway noise and dust issues can be expected however will be minimised where possible.

 

Residents will receive further notification of specific dates for water supply interruptions and other construction related updates as works progress.

Household Chemical Clean out

CleanOut your household chemical clutter for free

Now is your chance to dispose of your unwanted household chemicals safely, responsibly and for free. 

The REROC Waste Forum and Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council is holding a free household chemical CleanOut event for local residents on Thursday 6th April at Cootamundra Waste Transfer Station, Turners lane Cootamundra between 9am – 3pm.

Up to 20 litres of unwanted chemicals can be dropped off including garden chemicals, solvents and household cleaners, pesticides and herbicides, pool chemicals, acids and alkalis and poisons. 

The collections are a great opportunity for residents to dispose of any old chemicals they may have in a safe and environmentally friendly way.

Paint and paint related products, gas bottles, car batteries, gas cylinders and fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and fluorescent globes and tubes will also be accepted on the day however these items will need to be taken to the onsite Community Recycling Centre. The Community Recycling Centre is also a free service and is open year round for your convenience. 

Commercial quantities will be accepted and a per litre collection fee will be charged that must be paid on the day. Bookings are essential for commercial quantities. To make a booking please call 0409 938 553. 

Please remember to transport your materials carefully and to remain in your vehicle at the collection site.

This is a NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy.

ROAD CLOSURE


COWBUMBLA STREET ROAD CLOSURE

Cowcumbla St will be closed to all east bound traffic between Fuller Drive and Muttama Rd. The closure and detour will be in place from 7am till 4pm weekdays commencing on Monday 9th January until further notice. One way traffic will be allowed for vehicles entering from Muttama Rd. All road users are requested to observe road signage and the direction of traffic controllers. This road closure is to allow for the construction of stormwater drainage as part of the Muttama Rd/Cowcumbla St intersection and culvert upgrade.
