drumMUSTER on Tuesday, May 9th

Farmers and agricultural contractors should note that the next drumMUSTER collection day for 2017 is scheduled for Tuesday May 9th.

Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning Council on 6940 2100.

Only triple rinsed agricultural and veterinary containers can be returned.

The drumMUSTER depot at the Cootamundra Waste Depot has been relocated, with entry now via the main access gate and weighbridge off Turners Lane.

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council Progress Report

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council is delivering significant benefits to the community through projects residents have said are important.


Temora Road Water Mains Replacement Program



Council wishes to advise of the continuation of water main replacement work in Temora St between Murray St and Parker St commencing on Monday 13th March 2017. Works will generally be completed between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday.


During construction access to properties and on street parking may be limited and any inconvenience will be reduced where possible. Locations for no on-street parking will be indicated by traffic cones and residents are requested not to park in these areas. While these works are underway traffic through the works may be controlled by traffic controllers and residents and motorists are requested to follow their directions.


On completion of the water main replacement, kerb and gutter and road reconstruction works will follow. While works are underway noise and dust issues can be expected however will be minimised where possible.


Residents will receive further notification of specific dates for water supply interruptions and other construction related updates as works progress.

Cowcumbla St will be closed to all east bound traffic between Fuller Drive and Muttama Rd. The closure and detour will be in place from 7am till 4pm weekdays commencing on Monday 9th January until further notice. One way traffic will be allowed for vehicles entering from Muttama Rd. All road users are requested to observe road signage and the direction of traffic controllers. This road closure is to allow for the construction of stormwater drainage as part of the Muttama Rd/Cowcumbla St intersection and culvert upgrade.

Residents of Cootamundra, Wallendbeen and Stockinbingal are advised that Council will be undertaking the green waste kerbside collection from

8th May to 12th May 2017

Green waste is to be placed neatly stacked, without obstruction to pedestrians, in front of your residence (not laneways) the week starting Sunday 7th May 2017 and will be collected on the same day as your normal garbage service for this week only. (If your green waste has not been collected on your garbage day, please leave it kerbside as it will be collected by council staff by the end of the week)

All loose waste must be secured with string or placed in cardboard boxes.
Plastic bags are not to be utilised and will not be collected.

The following items are not eligible and WILL NOT be collected

  • Waste items longer than 2 metres
  • Waste that requires more than two people to be picked up (e.g. over 50 kg)
  • Normal household waste items eg bottles, cardboard, paper, aluminium and steel cans, cardboard
  • Trade, commercial, industrial or shop waste of any kind including building waste
  • Rocks, soil, asbestos, barb wire, plate glass or builders waste
  • Home renovation timber waste
  • Motor vehicle chassis or parts
  • Any large vehicle or machinery parts including tyres
  • Poisons, oils, pesticides or other chemical, liquid waste, inflammable materials, paints and gas cylinders
